Salt Lake City During The Summer
The summer time is a great time of year to visit salt lake city or any of the surrounding areas in Utah. Salt Lake City is beautiful, warm, and very alive during the summer and it’s filled with fun activities and things you can do to enjoy yourself regardless of what kind of entertainment you like. Utah during the summer is a big attraction for out-door people and those who like adventures. Utah is home to a wide variety of national parks and nature reserves as well as the famous arches and Zion's national park. For anyone that likes hiking or biking there are dozens of mountain trails that will provide not only a challenge and a good time but also beautiful views and chances to connect with nature. There are also lots of fun streams and rivers that are great for playing and fishing in as well as just enjoying the wildlife and having picnics. Utah also has a lot of fun festivals and fairs downtown during the summer months that can be really great to enjoy as well. There are things like the arts festivals, wine festivals, jazz festivals, chalk art festivals, farmers markets, parade, and plenty of other fun celebration. Most of these are held in historic downtown areas usually near a landmark or monument of sorts.
There are also a lot of really fun things to do if you would prefer to stay inside and away from the heat (which can get extremely hot as the summer months progress) or if you just aren’t a sports person. Utah has a lot of great shopping malls and centers that you can visit, many of which have other attractions as well - like The Gateway, a mall located in downtown salt lake which often has live jazz music, concerts, dancing and other fun things to do. You can also spend some time visiting the many historical sites that are in Utah. Utah was settled by the pioneers and many of their homes and buildings remain as a testament to them and lots of them have been turned into museums. Historic sites like Temple Square, The Lion House, The Beehive House, The Conference Center, The Eagle Gate, and many other places like courthouses, churches, private homes, and so forth have a lot of history in them and can be very interesting to tour. If you’re really a history fan and are looking for some adventure too you can visit some of the many haunted ghost towns and grave yards all throughout Utah for some spooky sightseeing out there as well. There are also fun water parks and amusement parks like Lagoon that offer lots of rides, swimming, and other entertainment to keep everyone having a fun time in the summer!
For the most part there are plenty of fun things to do during the summer in Utah no matter what your interests are and there are always beautiful sights to see and nature to enjoy even if you just take a road trip through the state. Utah is full of interesting history and intriguing culture so take some time to visit during the summer and see what kinds of fun you might be able to have!
